Long-Term Support: Firmware you can build on for Years
Our new LTS branch keeps your installed base secure and stable, with security fixes delivered on a published schedule and no feature changes you didn’t ask for.
Buildings are operated for decades, and the automation inside them has to keep pace with that. Every firmware update on a live site means planning, testing and coordination with the operator. You told us you want the latest security fixes without having to requalify your projects for new features every time. That is exactly what our new Long-Term Support branch delivers.
With LTS, you choose a stable firmware baseline and stay on it for its entire support period. We keep it secure, fix critical defects and leave its behaviour unchanged. In a year in which the Cyber Resilience Act is raising expectations for every manufacturer, we see this as a firm commitment to the installed base you rely on.
Introducing the LOYTEC LTS firmware branch.
From now on, LOYTEC firmware is released on two tracks. Choose the track that suits each site, and switch whenever your project calls for it. Both tracks receive the same security fixes. The difference is what comes with them: on LTS, nothing else changes.

6 ways LTS pay off for you.
- Stable operation: LTS releases include only security updates and critical bug fixes, with no new features or changes to default behavior. Systems continue to operate as originally commissioned.
- Reduced on-site testing effort: Updates require significantly less regression testing and validation, which is particularly important for operators where every change must undergo a formal approval process, such as hospitals, data centers, and airports.
- Security without forced upgrades: Security fixes are backported to LTS releases, allowing systems to remain protected without the need to migrate to a newer feature release.
- Predictable maintenance: Patches are released every 1–2 months, with additional out-of-band updates provided for critical vulnerabilities. In accordance with the Product Life Cycle Policy, security updates are available for at least five years after Last-Time-Buy.
- Simplified compliance: A fixed software baseline makes audits, security assessments, and tender documentation easier to manage and maintain.
- Freedom of choice: Select the release strategy that best fits each project. Use LTS for existing installations requiring maximum stability, and Current releases for new projects that can benefit from the latest features and enhancements.
Download the LTS release from the LOYTEC download area and install it via the device’s web interface or with the Configurator software, just like any other LOYTEC firmware.
